About the Presenter:
Dr. Mary Bove herbal advocate, educator, and innovator holds a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine, Midwifery Certification and Diploma of Phytotherapy/Herbal Medicine. She practiced Naturopathic Family Medicine and Midwifery for 25 years, specializing in naturopathic pediatrics, botanical medicine and homebirth.

Once full-time faculty at Bastyr University, Dr Bove chaired the departments of Botanical Medicine and Naturopathic Midwifery. Dr Bove is the author of the Encyclopedia of Natural Healing for Children and Infants and co-authored Herbs for Women’s Health. Mary has been published in many magazines, journals and collaborative books on botanical and natural medicine.

In collaboration with Gaia Herbs® Dr Bove developed an herbal remedy line designed specifically for children. She has worked as Medical Educator and in formulation research and development for Gaia Herbs Brevard, NC. Dr Bove currently lectures writes, and teaches internationally on the topics of naturopathic medicine, botanical medicine, pediatrics, natural pregnancy and childbirth, traditional food medicine, and mind-body healing. Starting her herbal journey at age 18, Mary has held firm to three tenets: “Walk your talk, believe in the plants and practice herbalism every day in your life.”

About the Presenter:
Dr. Jaclyn Chasse, N.D. is a practicing naturopathic physician with a passion for bringing integrative medicine and natural products to US consumers. Dr. Chasse currently works as Vice President of Emerson Ecologics, where she serves as the lead for all scientific/technical matters as well as Wellevate. She also implemented the Emerson Quality Program in 2010. She holds an adjunct faculty position at Bastyr University, teaching courses on reproductive endocrinology.

A graduate of Bastyr University, she has an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She has co-authored several peer reviewed articles in the field of medical biophysics and integrative medicine. She is a frequent contributor to the Natural Medicine Journal and serves on their Editorial Board.

Dr. Chasse’s clinical practice, Perfect Fertility, focuses on fertility, sexual health and family wellness.

She is the immediate past-president of the New Hampshire Association of Naturopathic Doctors and currently serves on the AANP Board of Directors, as well as the Board of the American Herbal Products Association and the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Dr. Chasse was recently elected to serve as President-Elect of the AANP, taking office as President in January 2016.

Ecologically Harvested is a term that describes all herbs sold by Gaia Herbs that are not Certified Organic. Ecologically Harvested herbs include herbs that are harvested in their natural habitat, (i.e., wild harvested) according to specific guidelines for harvesting these herbs (i.e., away from roads and industry, as well as guidelines to avoid overharvesting). Our term, Ecologically Harvested, also includes herbs that are grown in managed woodland areas, fields designated for specific herbs, and herbs that are grown by indigenous growers, such as Kava Kava. All Ecologically Harvested herbs pass pesticide and heavy metal testing as well as microbial testing, prior to release.
